Full day Corcovado
We undertake a full-day expedition, departing from Manuel Antonio at 5:20 am with an estimated return time of 6 pm.
Corcovado is a national park that harbors around 2.9% of the world's biodiversity.
It's one of those places in Costa Rica 🇨🇷 that nature lovers should visit.
We depart at 5:20 am from Manuel Antonio, traveling for 2 hours to a restaurant where the adventure begins as we are greeted by a boat.
This maritime transport will accompany us throughout the day. We travel for 40 minutes through mangrove channels where we can observe monkeys, birds, crocodiles, and more from a distance.
Then we venture into the ocean, crossing between Drake Bay and Caño Island, where it's easy to spot humpback whales, dolphins, and much more.
- San Pedrillo station is more for observing felines, such as the puma.
- Sirena Station is an hour further by boat but is the heart of Corcovado.
A unique national park, ranked by Discovery Magazine as the top in Central America, with a high level of biodiversity.
We take a hike before lunch and another after.
It's worth noting that not all guides in Costa Rica are government-certified to guide in Corcovado, and Corcovado is the only place in the country where a guide is mandatory.
Upon returning from this expedition, we stop at the Terraza/Sierpe Mangroves for a small tour and explanation of the importance of mangroves for humans and nature.
Note:
Only one station can be visited per day.
